A Focused Group Discussion with students of I.J. Pioneer school and In-depth Interviews with teachers were conducted as pilot testing of the tools for preliminary  designing  of “Firefly” magazine. 2 FGDs with students of Grade 5, 6 and 7 were conducted and 2 IDIs with vice principal and secondary level coordinator were conducted.

The students and teachers had an enthusiastic participation in all the events and gave their honest answers on how they envisioned "Firefly" magazine to be. The students share their opinions about how various subjects can be incorporated in ways that excite them. They discussed about their interests and hobbies. The teachers also provided their valuable suggestions regarding what content might help students in their studies and daily life. 

The tools of FGD and IDI were tested and later improved based upon the feedbacks given by the students and teachers.
